Meet The Team

The JJ Splice Team bring years of experience casting, directing and producing work that has elevated actors to the next level, including feature films, TV series and commercials. They are passionate actors and filmmakers who love their craft and thrive on collaboration.

Dean Francis
Founder & CEO

Dean started life in the film and TV business in front of the camera on TV soaps as a teenager.

As a washed-up ex-child star, Dean got his Masters from The Australian Film Television and Radio School and then directed two acclaimed feature films - Road Train which was released in 50 countries; and Drown which picked up seven International film festival awards.

Dean dabbles in live art installations and happenings, having produced shows with luminaries including Dr Jane Goodall, Buzz Aldrin and George Takei.

Recently, Dean wrapped the feature film Lonesome which he produced and shot.

Timothy May
Showreels Director

Timothy thrives off the energy of the creative process, and lives and breathes performance.

Originally hailing from the sunny city of Perth, Timothy relocated to Sydney where he completed his studies at the International Film School Sydney. There he wrote and directed an impressive slate of acclaimed short films.

With stars in his eyes, Timothy immediately gravitated to blockbusters where he worked under the direction of Angelina Jolie on her debut feature as director Unbroken.

He then moved into Casting, quickly rising to Casting Director on the acclaimed Australian film Drown (in collaboration with Maura Fay Casting).

Timothy then worked with Mel Gibson on Hacksaw Ridge before accepting the role of Showreels Director at JJ Splice.

Tino Noodle
Mindset Coach & Performance Animal

Tino Noodle is young Cattle Dog Staffy who moved from Nowra at an early age to pursue his acting dreams in Sydney.

Tino's screen credits include commercials for a range of local brands and he was a regular Guest Artist on the iconic livestream Surry Hills Live in 2020.

Tino's big break came in 2021 when he appeared in the role of "Brute" in the Craig Boreham-directed feature film Lonesome which is currently in post-production.

Tino cherishes his relationships with actors and forms an immediate bond with all actors who like dogs (and many who don't).

Tino makes himself available for a pat or a cuddle on set to optimally assist in the creation of outstanding performances.
